Welcome to WADCA

The Winterbourne and District Community Association, was founded in 1964 to provide leisure and recreational facilities to the local inhabitants. It is a voluntary organisation, entirely funded and managed by local people for local people and over the last 45 years it has provided a focus and a physical Centre for a wide range of societies and activities. Thanks to the efforts of our predecessors (click here for History), we enjoy large modern facilities at the Hoopers Farm site on the Watleys End Road.

Membership of WADCA is open to all adults and currently stands at approximately 1000. Currently, some 15 clubs are directly associated with the Community Association. (click here for Sections).  Local organisations can also be affiliated to WADCA.

Facilities:

Our facilities include a large main hall, with a stage, which is used by theatre and musical groups to stage productions, by keep fit and dance enthusiasts and for social functions of various kinds, in fact for any activity that needs a large area. A dedicated bar is available for large functions. Catering can be supplied privately or through our catering links. The main hall is able to host up to 150 people.

A skittle alley is also available to hire, or alternatively can be used for smaller functions; once again catering can be supplied privately or through our catering links. When used for functions, this room will hold up to 60 people.

The Sports Hall is used by Badminton and Short Mat Bowling enthusiasts but has some free capacity either for private hire or by application to one of the groups currently using it.

A lounge bar provides a place for members to relax and enjoy a quiet drink in the evenings, but can also be hired for private functions.

Kitchen facilities adjoin the lounge bar for those wishing to be more independent.

Functions:

WADCA’s facilities can be used for a wide range of events or occasions, the size of the various rooms allowing great flexibility in the number of guests.

Wedding receptions.

Christenings.

Wakes.

Birthday or Anniversary celebrations.

Seminars or Meetings.
